MiniDive, the diving bottle that can be recharged by hand!

Having a scuba tank on board a boat is a safety feature. But how to recharge it at sea? MiniDive provides the solution we've all been waiting for.

Having a scuba tank on board a boat is a safety feature. But how to recharge it at sea? MiniDive provides the solution we've all been waiting for.

But snorkeling is often not enough. You tire quickly and it can become dangerous. Then there is the solution to take a hookah or a scuba tank. We presented you the Nardi hookah marketed by Croix du Sud Marine. Solution which is very efficient, but which requires a power supply (12 V) to function.

An end in the propeller, a blocked anchor, an anode to tighten… The moments when you need to dive under your hull are not lacking when you practice the boat, with the sail as with the engine.

The MiniDive provides a simpler and more autonomous answer. It is a scuba tank with a capacity of 0.5 liter all in aluminum. It inflates to 200 bars and is used with a classic regulator. With its small capacity, it offers between 5 and 10 minutes of autonomy for the diver. Neophytes who ventilate a lot will consume more air and will only have 5 minutes to work under the hull.

But unlike a classic bottle, the MiniDive can be recharged using a pump, such as a bicycle pump! It takes 330 pump strokes to completely fill the tank and be able to start diving again. The manufacturer announces 15 minutes of pumping. But it will take a little more, because the pump working at high pressure (200 bars) requires breaks every 5 minutes to cool.

Still, the MiniDive is the first bottle to offer complete autonomy. A really interesting feature for sailboats that sail far from any possibility of recharging a traditional block.

In addition to its manual pump, the MiniDive can also be recharged on a classic diving compressor (in a club for example) or from an already inflated diving block. The MiniDive company is currently working on developing a small portable compressor (220 volts).
